Parent (or Guardian) and Baby Lessons
Beginner | Improver | Advanced
Babies can join these classes from birth. In these classes the maximum parent and baby to teacher ratio would be twelve to one. The teacher works with the parents to teach their child the basics of swimming. The babies learn though songs and games. They play with ducks and balls learning how to swim underwater to retrieve them. All our parents and babies are treated as individuals. Every babies are encouraged to develop at their own pace, building skills and confidence.
These classes cater for babies from birth until they have the ability to benefit from teaching unaccompanied by their parent (or guardian).
Children move up to the next level when:
- They can swim unaided and are mature enough to understand instructions.
- They are tall enough to stand in the shallow end, and independent and confident enough to prefer to swim alone.
- The parent considers that the child responds better when they are not in the water.
